Little competion

A little competition never hurt anyone, right? :-) Rett quit smoking about 4 months ago, but then picked up chewing tobacco/ dip, which is even grosser than smoking, in my opinion. He's been saying for 4 months that it was only temporary so he didn't quit smoking cold turkey, but here we are, still dipping!

So I came up with a little challenge for him, since I want to kick start myself into losing weight. If I lose 10 lbs in 7 days - he can't use tobacco products ever again. He agreed, so it started 12/26 and I have to lose 10 lbs by 1/2/08. After 2 days, I'm down 5 lbs, which is probably water weight, but I'm hoping that with eating better and all, I'll have the 10 lbs gone in time. Then it's on to a tobacoo free 2008 for us!

The party was a success!

I completely forgot to post about it - but the surprise party for my parents last Saturday was a success! We had to tell them about it Saturday afternoon since it was snowing and they were thinking of bailing the fake birthday party (which was our excuse to get them there), but it still worked out really well.

So, a good time was had by all, and even though my parent's weren't surprised, I think they were touched that we put it all together

It's called birth control, Spears family

Seriously, wtf is up with people in Hollywood not knowing about birth control?! Now 16 year old Jamie-Lynn Spears is pregnant too?! Am I the only person who went through sex ed in school and actually uses birth control? It's just doesn't seem right that there are all these teen/ young mothers that act like "gee, we didn't know we could get pregnant!" when it's so freakin obvious! It just doesn't seem right that there are all these people in the world that want to have babies and struggle for months and months to start a family, but then there are these idiots like the Spears family who get pregnant when they obviously don't have the best family values to share with children. Alright, I'll put my soapbox away for now...

I'm totally addicted...

Thanks to my friend Jan, I've become totally addicted to Google Reader. It's this great little thing that checks all the blogs you like and shows you the new posts, so you don't have to go to each one individually. Sounds silly, right? How hard is it to click on a website after all - but seriously, this is one of the best things ever. It's so easy and now I can actually read real news plus the junky stuff I love :-) Alright, that's enough of me being a commercial! lol

I hate mornings

So, I was late to work this morning because I woke up at 8 am, the exact time I had to be there I hate being late
Thank goodness for the long weekend that I have since my sister's in town for the anniversary party, otherwise I might have to be "sick" tomorrow. lol

They found out....

My parent's 30th wedding anniversary is 12/18, so I've been planning a surprise party with my brother and sister for them. It's been about 3 months in the making so my sister and her family could find flights from Florida, we could save money, etc - but it's finally here. My sister arrives tonight and the party is this Saturday!

We had worked with some of my parent's friends to set up that my parent's think they're going to a surprise birthday party this Saturday. My mom rsvp'd to a friend of hers who might have blown our cover by saying that the clubhouse was reserved by the same person who is supposed to be the surprise birthday party birthday girl. Oh well, I guess things can't always go according to plan :-(
