Ack! I was tagged!!

My gorgeous new friend, Dusty, over at All things G&D tagged me. The challenge is to share 6 random things about me. Might not be that interesting or random, but I'll give it a try!

1. I danced for 15 years, but quit after my senior year. I absolutely loved it and still miss it sometimes.

2. My biggest fear in life is not being able to have children. I've actually had breakdowns and just cried at the thought of a not being able to get pregnant.

3. I try to present myself as a really outgoing, happy person even though most of the time I'm scared sh*tless of the way I'm being perceived.

4. I am obsessed with mini pigs! Rett wants to have a house out in the country some day and the only way I would agree with it is if I can have a mini pig. They're uber cute!

5. I'm probably the worst housewife in the world. I hate cleaning and do it as little as possible, but enough so we don't live like trash. I also hate laundry. Rett is constantly having to wear clothes straight from the dryer since I don't want to fold them.

6. I cry at silly shows and movies, even commercials. Rett is always looking over at me during sappy moments on a show and starts laughing his butt off. Strangest thing about it? I didn't cry on my wedding day! Everyone was convinced I would be a blubbering mess, but I had about 30 seconds of freak-out right before walking down the aisle and then I was just fine the rest of the day.

So here are the Tag rules:
1. Link to the person who tagged you (i.e. me)
2. Post the rules on your blog
3. Write 6 random things about yourself
4. Tag 6 people at the end of your post and link to them
5. Let each person you have tagged know by leaving a comment on their blog
6. Let the tagger (me) know when your entry is posted

Now..... who should I tag? I'm going to tag the wonderful Danica at Accidental Single Girl, the fab photog Erin at erin johnson photography, the newly skinny Alison at Bouncing Buckeye Baby, mommy-to-be Trisha at Heartaches and Happiness, another fab photog and new friend Carri at Beauprez Photography, and last but not least new friend and Georgia Peach, Kent at The Brannon Report

well, it's something!

Rett started this week at a "job." Why the quotes, you may ask? Because it's a phone sales job and 100% commission based.

It's for a company that sells ad space on the back of a local grocery store's receipts. Businesses can pay X amount and get an ad that would be on everyone's receipt that shops at this grocery store. Rett calls to sell them on the idea and set up a meeting, then a 'closer' goes in to talk prices and finish the deal. If a deal is closed, Rett gets 15% of the selling price of the ad. Great potential, no reliability. Not necessarily a good thing for those of us living paycheck to paycheck. He's scheduled about 5 meetings, so hopefully we'll get good news and $$$$ soon!

On the homefront, I think the dogs are starting to feel extra lonely since we've been gone so much. Tobey is now a non-stop cuddler and Bella is constantly kissing us. It's not a bad thing, I just feel bad that they've been feeling the effects of us working 2 jobs each.

We have a small vacation planned for Aug 3-5, and I can't wait! We're going to Hocking Hills in Southern Ohio and staying in a private cabin with a hot tub! It will be so nice to just relax and spend time together.

Peaks and Valleys

Sometimes it feels like life is nothing but a giant roller coaster ride. Well, right now, Rett and I are in a definite valley. We've both been working 2 jobs since we really really really (and maybe a few more, but you get the idea) want to get a house this year. We've rented together for 7 years now and that's MORE than enough.

It's stressful, but we were handling it. We even planned a little get away for a weekend in early August, so we could relax. Then the bomb hits. Rett lost his job that he's had a Buffalo Wild Wings for abotu 8 years. They've been treating him like total poop the past couple of years and putting him through the ringer. They used a bullcrap reason last Friday to say that he was fired. ( very brief version - they changed his schedule, didn't tell him, then fired him for not showing up on the day they added to his schedule.) Already he's done a dozen applications to different places for all sorts of jobs, and talked to any and all friends/ contacts he has that could help him find something. Thankfully, the owner of the bar that Rett was working at part time is going to give him more hours, so that will definitely help.

But other than that... it's pretty dull! LOL

happy (early) 4th of July!

I've really been slacking lately with blogging. My parents are all moved in to their new place, so that's helped calm things down a bit. Grandpa is still in the nursing home to be able to walk better, but he seems to keep getting stronger so it's all positive.

Rett and I have a rare night off together tonight, so we're looking foward to just hanging out and catching up. Poor guy doesn't know that I'm going to make him help me with laundry too! lol
Hope everyone has a great 4th of July weekend!

Evil pictures of the past....

have come back to haunt me and remind me that I used to be smaller and beautiful! In the process of cleaning up my grandpa's place, I found these 2 old senior pictures of me (taken 8 years ago) and could hardly believe how much I've changed. I'd love to be that size (12) again.....

Changing the tone

Since my diet is currently slacking, I'm going to change the tone of my blog to just about my life and stuff in general. I'm not sure posting only about weight loss is my thing, I always felt like I was letting myself down by having to post that I hadn't lost any weight. So onto The Life and Times of Stephanie W!

My parents are in the process of moving to a new condo so my grandpa can live with them and have a 1st floor bedroom. He's 91 and just had a pacemaker put in last week. All in all, he's doing really well. He's in a nursing home/ rehab facility until next week since he was having trouble walking after being in bed for 7 days, but he's doing a lot better. It's kind of stressful right now though, trying to move my grandpa's townhouse, my parent's 1600 sq ft condo and a storage unit into a new condo. I'm sure we'll get it done, but it feels like the never ending project.

Rett and I currently working 2 jobs each. We just needed the extra money with prices going up on everything and we had an old medical bill that we thought insurance covered, but didn't. It was only a $1,700 bill, so nothing big, LOL.

My birthday is this coming Sunday (June 22) and I'm really excited since one of my friend's shares the same birthday, so we're having a joint party :-) Should be a lot of fun, so I'm really looking forward to it!
